Shiri’s Blog

Me and my family are back in Israel now.  We are living in an apartment until our things get here on the ship.   It is going to arrive in about the middle of December. Then we can move back into our old house.

The apartment we are living in is in Caesarea. The place is called Neot Golf. It has a swimmingpool, playgrounds, minigolf, and a lot of more fun things.  Our apartment has two bedrooms,(me and my brother sleep in the same bed.) one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.It also has a porch.

From the porch, you can see the Mediterranean Sea. You can also see a Power Station.

I started going to school on the Thursday after we got here. My class was very welcoming on my first day. The made me a welcome party.

Here in Israel we learn 6 days a week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

I have to go now.

On the first day of school, I met the new librarian . She asked for my name, and I said Shiri. She asked me if I am the Shiri who writes “Shiri’s Blog”.   And I said yes. She said that she came to this school because of what I said about it.  She said that she liked what I said about this school, so she came here from the U.S.!!!!!!!!!

It was such a coincidence!

Guy is my younger brother, and I love him very much, but sometimes he can be very annoying…

Sometimes we fight, but all the fights end with a hug , a kiss, and a sorry from both of us.

When he starts a project, or a picture, he is always with his tongue out, and he always finishes it.

Like a month ago, he gave up his pacifier.    He always falls asleep in the living room, or in his room watching tom and jerry, or looney-tunes.

I love you Guy, and I always will, although sometimes we fight, we always forgive each other.

On June first I had my ninth birthday. We celebrated like every time, cake and candy when we wake up, and we went to a restaurant called MISSISSIPI, and we ate some Angus T-bones!!!!, They were good…

On June seventh, I had a birthday party, at my home, and all the girls in my class were invited.

We played bingo, a funny costume game, a guessing game, and we ate pizza, popcorn, and candy, and we watched Jumanji.

They all didn’t want to go home!!!!!!! I got a lot of presents.

So, I have to wait another year for my next one…

We came back from Hong Kong yesterday.It was amazing!

In Disney Land, me, my brother, and my parents went on a ride SPACE MOUNTAIN. The first few seconds, I was really scared, but the next time, just me and Dad, we sat int he first seat, and it was much more fun!!!

We saw all of the disney characters.

On one of the days, we rode on a bus, a subway, a ferry, we were on a double decker bus, on the top floor, in 4 front seats!!!!!
Hong Kong was an amazing place!!!!!!!, It is a place that I’ll never forget.

Yesterday, I went with my Mom to buy a guitar.(for me) I can’t play it yet, but next week I am going to start learning.

After that, we went to my Dad’s work (Sun) for lunch.

When we got home, I started feeling bad, and I had high fever. So we went to the doctor at 6:30, and they said that I have some sort of virus.

Today, a part of it went away during the night, but now I am coughing, and sneezing all the time, and in the morning, I had a high fever. Plus I am not going to school for the whole week, but I don’t know about tomorrow…

On Thursday morning, we are going to Hong Kong. So I am not going to be in school for Thursday and Friday.

I hope to get better so that we can go to Hong Kong this week!!!!!!!

My school is having Sports Day this Saturday. We get to play lots of different sports and races

We are having a Teachers’ Pie Throwing Quiz. The children get to ask the teachers questions , and if the teacher gets it wrong, the children get to throw pies on the teachers’ faces!!!!! My teacher came up with the idea, and she likes it.

All the children in our school are looking forward to it. The teachers too.

We have sports day once a year. We get to play very funny games.

Two of my favorites are the Three Leg Ed Race, and Sac Race.

I live in China,Beijing,there was a 7.8 earthquake in Cheng Du, Si Chuan Province.

My dad said that he was sitting in his office, working, and the building started moving! I didn’t feel it, because I was on the third floor of my school, and My dad was on the tenth, so nothing happened to my school.

It doesn’t happen that often. Thank God we are Fine!!!!!

There is also this enterovirus here in  China, so if you live here, be careful!

I go to Beanstalk International Bilingual school. This school has %30 Chinese, and %70 English.

I am in 3rd grade. We have 16 children in our class. And my teacher is from England.

This is my weekly schedule:   Monday:

- School starts at 8:30, Chinese class with the bell.

-  After Chinese we have Recess.

-   Then, 2 lessons with my teacher, Ms. Ruth.

-   After that , we go to lunch.Strait after lunch we can go to  recess again. (We have three recesses a day)

- Then, another lesson with my class teacher , and we go to dance class.

-  Recess, 2 lessons and going Home time.

Tuesday is the same but no dance and There is library time.

Wednesday has no dance, no library, but it has art and music.

Thursday has no art, no music, no library, and no dance. it has nothing special.

Friday has non of the above , but it has P.E.

This is my school week.

Hello. My name is Shiri.  I live in China, Beijing.  I go to a school called Beanstalk International Bilingual school.  I really enjoy my life here in China.

Since we got here, we went to a lot of places.

Shang-Hai: We went to Shang Hai in August.  It was really, really, really hot!!!!  We went through a lot of Markets.

Thailand: It is beautiful, beautiful, hot place.  We went to a lot of temples and the king’s palace!!!!!

India:  It was one of the most exciting places I have been to.  Great weather,  amazing places, and wonderful people.  We saw the Taj Mahal!!!!!

Xi-an: We got there by an Over-night train.  Terra-Cotta Warriors, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Small Goose Temple, Big Goose Temple.  The 2 first days were very hot, and the last day was very rainy.
